The OVER CAL-H is a calender, that, according to the desired paper grade and the parameters of smoothness, gloss and bulk, can have from 1 up to 5 hard nips.
It is provided with:
- Variable crown type rolls, as the King rolls,
- Fixed crown rolls as intermediate rolls,
- Thermo-rolls of peripherical or central bore type, as the Queen rolls.
The heating of the thermo-rolls is obtained by internal circulation of hot water, superheated water, steam, or oil. Each heating medium can reach its own level of surface temperature and is designed in accordance to the paper final quality in terms of smoothness, gloss and bulk.
The use of VC-E rolls makes a multizone nip calendering possible (from 3 to 7 zones).
The calender is completed by:
- its own hydraulic unit,
- lubrication unit,
- queen rolls heating system,
- control device,
- paper spreading system,
- tail threading system.
